Sikorsky S-58/H-34 Choctaw from Chris Sayer's SHED Models - converted to amphibian - float assembly scratch built.

Bernie is a real master craftsman and he thinks nothing of it

I really enjoyed admiring his work.

dsamuels wrote:Well, as Bernie said, we (Bernie + Wendy Snyder, Christian Gandolfo, Michael Bludworth and myself) had a great time discussing models. I will put up some posts with photos.

To begin, Christian showed a collection of unusual models, all from his former home, Argentina.

Here are Michael, Wendy, Christian, and Christian's models:

Have you ever seen these before?

I will leave it to Christian to identify them.

And finally, here are photos of some models from my collection that I showed: the development of 1:200 Connies over the years.

Here are some of earliest I have: Left- a white metal L749 TWA by John Alcott (Veterans + Vintage) based on the Dinky casting. Right- a resin L749 MPM casting finished by Hans Becher.

Two generations of Westerns: Left- A 'New' Western L1049G NW, made in China, tamp printed, nicely detailed, half the price of the old Westerns. Right- an 'old' Western L1049G AF, made by Mike Stephens. One of my first 1:200 models, decals, lots of character.

The epitome of craft and detail- A Small World L1049G Guest Aerovias Mexico by Martin Beacom, with lots of detail, weathering, and curtains in the windows.
