Donations

Postby MichaelB » Thu Oct 02, 2014 4:51 pm

As we had mentioned before, this site no longer is operating by the beneficence of GR Webster. To that note I today received a bill from our IT guy for $80 for site maintenance and etc that had gone unpaid. I will pay it straightaway.
However, unlike GR, I do not have the funds to support the site so I am asking for donations from any interested party, until I set up a more formal program.
You can make a $10 donation to my PP account, ssinc77098@yahoo.com Please note what it's for if you do. ...and, thanks in advance.

On the other hand, MAC member FlyingTiger10 (Jose Heraud) sent me three models to sell and to apply those funds to maintaining MAC. Thank you for your models and thank you for that idea, Jose! :)
I rarely sell on eBay or other sites and only occasionally "buy" a table at a show, but I do intend to sell these items. I will post them here shortly for your consideration.
If you would like to contribute in this manner - please do so! However...consider...after paying freight and deducting eBay and PP fees your donation may not end up being that much.
Please consider this option and decide if it's something you would want to take advantage of.
Again...thanks for participating!

I've enjoyed the MAC website immensely over the years. And, I continually learn new things from MAC's terrific members.

I just sent a donation and encourage other members to do so to the best of their ability.

I will donate too, I would ask that the models donated for sale be only advertised here...someone will buy them and no ebay fees will need to be paid....so more of the money can go towards the site maintenance.

Thank you!
I will consider your suggestion about the models for sale. I have a show on the 18th and if I can move them there we would also avoid the fees.
However...I might opt to do that post. I have not yet photographed them. They are three of those older Russian imported airplanes; diecast in Russian boxes. The look to be un-opened.
...more later.

Let us know when the bills come due, so we can help out. Sent $$ to your Paypal account. Please make sure it arrived as Paypal would not let me copy and paste your email address to send money?? I am getting older and older, and more likely to make mistakes in my typing.

And Thanks for taking on the Job!! We all truly appreciate your efforts. Also, will not make the Houston Show this year. Wife's niece' wedding in VA took precedent.

Dear Michael:

I hope you can sell the donated aircraft at the upcoming October meet directly to any member
interested in the Russian Saratov models. Otherwise, through the MAC website. The buyer can
use PP to pay you, but as a gift to a friend and not as a transaction to avoid paying fees. Only shipping
would be charged to the buyer. I would not recommend selling these models through eBay, as you say to
avoid paying high fees. But do what you need necessary to get funds for the website.
Will not be able to attend the meet this year but perhaps the next. Hope it will be a success.

Regards, Jose.

I have just paid our fees and I'd like to thank those of you who sent in donations. So far they have covered 50% of the cost - and I haven't sold the donated toy airplanes yet.
I will be photographing them and first make them available to the MAC subscribers.
Thanks for your assistance!
