There is a very good book out there called Hubley Toy Vehicles: 1946-1965, written by Steve Butler. I see it for sale on Ebay all the time. It has all the Hubley toys listed by the Model number and gives a list of the dates of manufactuer, color, size and values. It it published in sections, Aircraft is thus a section of its own. They are all there. The book says that the 495 was first produced in 1956 in the Silver and red colors, and the 495 was produced until 1965. There is some confusion which colors were used in the last three years. The 495,was also sold in sets. like the Air Race set, 1956, the aircraft carrier set, 1963, the Fighter-Bomber Squadron set, 1957-58. Also the Air Comand set, 1958. THe Navy Airfield set, 1958. And of course the Flying Circuis set most commenly seen. The book is very well done with a lot of pictures of the different color conbinations and original box's. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Hubley aircraft. The ISBN# is 0-7643-1405-X to anyone who is interested.
