Sikorsky 47 model 2 1944

This is probably the earliest helicopter that was made into a toy immediately after the war. Three well-known examples are the Acme plastic toy (here in grey), the qancient Gama 15 and the German version which was (and is?) made in the DDR/ Germany in very great numbers.

Sikorsky H5 1945
The tin one by TT from Japan was made in various liveries. The Mettoy (here in bronze) was manufactured in France under the name of Puch. The bigger Tudor Rose in grey is from the UK.

Other nice versions are the Irwin from the USA, and one I like very much is made by K Sangei Kogyo from Japan, see below.

Bristol Sycamore by Nomura
The Bristol Type 171 Sycamore was the first British-designed helicopter to fly and serve with the Royal Air Force. Created by the Bristol Aeroplane Company, it was used for search and rescue and anti-submarine warfare.

Nomura TN made a beautiful Bristol with detachable tail, so it fitted in a smaller box!
