I'm planning on manufacturing my own airplane ashtray model and would like to solicit responses from collectors as to what their favourite model aircraft would be to add to their collection. The ashtray and plane will be chrome plated zinc or aluminum and will be of a limited run to perhaps several hundred. Any suggestions?

Constellation! I have a vintage metal Lockheed 049/649/749 model you can borrow to make a casting and you can use this readily available Constellation pin to mount on the front of the ashtray bowl.

Yeah, definitely thought about that one-I have a nice Connie i could use as a master as well. I like the logo idea too. I was thinking maybe a Canadian Comet jetliner...not sure how much demand there would be for that. Or an Avro Arrow?

I know the three tailed Connie would be nice, but you don't see many twin tailed like the B24 around.....

I like the Liberator, but I wonder if a more modern aircraft that you don't see often on an ashtray would be more popular (at least to warrant a couple of hundred casts....)? If I went WW11, one thought would be a stand with a Mustang and ME-109 mounted on twin chrome steel rods and positioned in a classic dogfight dive...not sure what kind of demand there might be for new original pieces.

The P-51 Allyn' turn up fairly often, so just thinking about a classic A/C that one doesn't see too often...

Agreed. Certainly, the B-24 doesn't come up often, but your tag suggests a certain bias to this very cool aircraft

What about Howard Hughes racer? I've never seen that one on an ashtray before and it's got to be one of the nicest airplane designs of all time in my opinion.

How about a B-32 Dominator? Classic and forgotten.
