1970s Braniff 727
Here is an odd Gyro Powered 727 from an unidentified Japan maker probably in the late 60s or the 70s. The trade mark is a stylized block letter "K."
The box does not show the Braniff colors, and the windows and registration number would be correct for a BAC 111. I have no tin toy of a true One-Eleven, making this one a hybrid.

The toy model itself is so ugly! The wings are hinged to fit into the box. The lower part of the fuselage is flat, wide, and has a speaker for the "gyro" friction motor.

Marx of Hong Kong also had a Braniff plane, a 707 in both blue and orange. Too bad it didn't use this color scheme on its Electra ! ! !
