Help with RCAF tin airplane information

Postby tcafan » Tue Aug 13, 2013 3:59 am

Hi All,

I have recently purchased two tin airplanes. Both are RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force). I have been collecting model airplanes for the last 20 years, but I know very little, if anything, about tin toys. However, I think these ones are rare but I am not sure.

If anybody has more information on them I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks.

Mark

I am not certain of the jet, but the C-124 is the smallest of the Yonezawa brand Globemasters.

The jet might be Masuya Fine Toys.

No maker's mark, but this jet's fuselage/tail matches those of the Masuya Fine Toys small DC-7.

On the other hand, the lithography of your toy matches those on this Sanyo S2 Toys 707.

Thanks, very interesting.

Have you ever seen the RCAF Globemaster before? I am thinking it was not mass produced?

Thanks again.
