Japanese makers produced some large F-105 Thunderchief toy planes with elaborate actions. They overshadowed this little number. It is friction-powered and has no maker's mark. It was made in the Mid 60s.

Mystery solved-the maker is Daito, and there was also a blue US Navy variant:
