B-52, Big but not ugly

This impressive toy plane was made in Japan probably in the very late 50s. The wing span is 18 inches and it is friction powered.

It is made of all tin plate except for the rubber tires. 25734 appears on the tail.

It also came in red, with silver jet pods. The flight deck portion on this variant was also grey.

The lighter patches on the flight deck portion of my example are actually part of the original lithography, and not age blemishes or wear.

The manufacturer did not mark the toy. Perhaps one of you with an original boxed example can identify it for us?
