Joustra, French firm made some great toy Connies

I don't especially like the pre 1956 tin toy planes made by Joustra. For me, they are like those early MARX tin planes: awkward; cheap looking; thin metal; no real effort to make a scale like toy.
BUT in 1956 they made a really good model of the Lockheed Constellation and sold it on into the 1960s with some modifications- battery powered with wire remote, and friction powered versions were made. The last L-1049G Super Constellation variant had plastic wing tip fuel tanks like this one. Rumors mention a cargo variant with opening fuselage but remain unconfirmed.

The plane looks similar to the German Arnold Super Constellation.

That is one great airplane toy! I have one in similar condition with box. I couldn't let it go when I sold off most of my tin. That work of art has a special place in my private office display.

Arnold and Joustra shared the toolings for the Connie. I guess, both companies had a good relation. Some of the Arnold S-55 Helis were made in France, and I assume, they did it at the Joustra plant.

Later Joustra made the Caravelle for selling it in Germany under GAMA brand.

nice toy!
I wonder what other airlines were used by either Joustra, or Arnold, A TWA per the box graphics?
I have never seen another Joustra Connie in other than AF livery and they were not too interested in the international markets. But Arnold was a big exporter, it would seem.
BTW , at your suggestion, I am checking with our computer guy about setting up a links section which would include yours, a wonderful site, http://www.lhmc.de/e-index.htm, and other the members think would be useful- certainly steve remingtons Collectair museum.
