Larami's Takatoy sold a series of small biplanes around 1994. After that, around 1997, Lidco in Canada issued them in different color schemes and another firm sold a slightly different set (mixed and matched upper wings) in dollar stores.

In 2000-2001 the Ames department store, now defunct, began to sell a new series of planes from Just Think Toys, PO Box 2345, Palos Verdes CA 98743. This "Hot Wings" series combined old Zylmex castings of airliners and jet fighters with the biplanes alongside new castings of private planes and experimental planes, all made in China.

The biplanes are diecast metal with plastic upper wings. The quality is good for such small subjects.
