My Christmas box

Postby pendulum19 » Sat Jan 01, 2011 6:45 am

I've always had the taste for cheap toy planes apart from my usual scale models. These little things just get me excited that I usually buy more than one.

My holiday shopping always took me to the toys section of the stores, and this year, I've bumped into some surprises:

1.) MOTORMAX C-47 - 4.75 inches of heavy metal glory!

2.) UN-NAMED DC-9's - the plastic just came with a card saying "Toys For Boys".
This is the DC-9, man! it's rare to find a DC-9 toy nowadays, so I got myself two, and went back the next day for another one (which I painted blue) hahaha

This one's about 5.5 inches.

3.) MADE IN CHINA 737-800. All metal. I like the way it looks as a toy.

This is like an oversized Schabak at 1:260.

4.) MADE IN CHINA 757. All metal, 1:300.

It's hard to find proper scale models in my hometown, and I usually get them from different cities I visit. But I'm happy to find toys that can be just as exciting.

Very nice airliners! No names - I see that! All metal, or metal/plastic? What was the packaging like? These could be New Ray or Real Toy from their Airport Play Sets - they usually are generic in their marks. ...and everything is made in China!
Kudos on the DC-9s...hard to find any these days...

Thanks!
The DC-9's have the top half of the fuselage in metal, while the rest is in plastic. I guess this is somewhat patterned from Real Toy in terms of make, but the quality and type of landing gear are not the same (compared with my Real Toy planes).

@Aeronaut: That's quite hard to share because I found these in an old department store in a small city in the southernmost island of the Philippines. :-) my hometown.
