ERTL Force One.
I've just pulled a box of them out for resorting. I don't have all that many, but Bill Stewart does.
Again - they don't sell "toys" like these anymore...

Are these the Force One planes that Hans Nesbitt "improved"??
That F14 is identical, panel line by panel line, with my F1 F14.

Final answer?
You are correct. Hans was responsible. He modified standard ERTL Force One aircraft and sent these special models to the 6 editors of The Plane News. The way to tell if one gets your way is that he removed the rivets to modify them then screwed them back together.
He didn't sign his work normally, but one of mine is signed.

So, c'mon - I was right the first time!!....they are Force One planes, just not Force One issues!!!
