Hey All,
I have been working on a Tootsie-Toy Lockheed twin engine airliner. Its coming down to paint and would like to know if there was ever a blue fuselage on silver wings. Did the embossed lettering ever get painted? I would like to see any combination that you all have pictures of. I have included the picture of mine during restoration.
BTW, what was the original prop diameter?
Thanks, Tom

They came in a lot of different finishes, here are some of mine.
Take a look at the DC-2s as I expect some of the same finishes were applied to the Lockheed, especially the red and silver which I am told was in a special airplane set with all planes finished the same way.

A couple of things, The props were all anodized, parkerized whatever, giving a matt blackish finish.
Pay no attention to the camouflaged DC-2, it is a ww II period repaint

Did you know that EAL stands for "Amelia Earhart Lost?"

Well, that's a fine bit of trivia! I would have never thought that the TootsieToy Company would have ever been that sentimental/romantic.

EAL stands for Eastern Air Lines, not Amelia Earhardt Lost, as she disappeared in 1937,
and this plane was issued earlier, in 1935.
