Hawker Siddeley HS 121 Trident desk model

Postby zlorf » Tue Jun 14, 2011 11:31 am

Hi there. I don't know if this will be of any interest to any of you, but my grandfather was a Fire Chief Officer at the Hatfield Aerodrome, in England, from the 50's to 1984 when he retired. He has since passed away and gave me some of his old aviation souvenirs.

An executive gave him a desk model of a Hawker Siddeley HS 121 Trident in British European Airways colours which, although has taken some knocks during its life and looks a bit rough, I think would be of some interest to a collector/aviation modeller. My mother wanted to take it to the goodwill store but I'm sure there is someone out there who would enjoy it.

Many thanks if you could help me send this to a good home. I think my grandfather would be pleased to know if it was restored, sitting proudly in a collection somewhere.

Thanks for the post! I have in my collection one of these models, without a stand and no manufacturer's label. It is in much better shape but the tail "crosses" have not done as well, they are peeling away. Now I know who made it and how the stand looked like. :D

That's cool, glad I could help you out. But please note that those crosses are actually half Union Jack flags, if you ever get around to restoring yours.
