Houston Collectibles Show with MAC

On October 19th, MAC will be visiting the Houston Airliner Collectibles Show in Houston, Texas at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum at Hobby Airport. In addition to the show - which is held in the ultimate collectible, a vintage 1940 Air Terminal! - MAC members will be holding off campus meetings and a probable dinner Saturday night after the show.
The show flyer contains hotel information - for a good rate - if you want to spend the night.
Tables are available at the show if you want to sell something. Perhaps we need a joint MAC table..
This is at Hobby Airport, so SWA is a natural, but most airlines offer some sort of service to Hobby. If you want to rent a car, IAH is not all that far away. The hotel will provide transport to the Museum for their patrons.
The Museum is adjacent to the Vietnam War Flying Museum, and we expect to have a number of aircraft on the ramp for display and tours. The Museum will also be offering photo tours of the airport itself.
So...this can't be beat!
1. All your MAC buddies!
2. At a collectibles show
3. In an airplane museum
4. At an airport.

Please contact Duane Young at the email address on the attached flyer for details and tables.
We still need to have a discussion here - at MAC - about what activities y'all would like to see and how we could accommodate them.
About the only given (outsdie of the show) is a group dinner at a local eaterie.
...let the suggestions flow!
Michael

TO ALL MAC MEMBERS!
Please add your vote to the poll that is at the start of this topic! Please, please consider your schedule and make an attempt to come to Houston! This is a great opportunity to meet the faces of other posters and staff here at MAC, and an opportunity to wile away a terrific afternoon by playing airplanes with your buddies!
Thanks
Michael

My wife (Wendy) and I will be attending the Show. We will arrive sometime on Friday the 18th, so dinner Friday night will work for us as well (we'll overnight Saturday, so a second get together is not out of the question!).

Looking forward to meeting with all of you again.

Bernie

Fellow MAC members,

I will be there, possibly with one or two aviation interested friends along. Will be coordinating with Danny Samuels. Planning to attend all events; please advise.

Safe travel to All.

Best Regards,

Just a reminder that the show is this Saturday. I wish I could promise naked dancing ladies and free beer, but I'm afraid that airplane - toys and real one! - are all I have!
I hope to see you here...be sure and ask for me!

Well, since nobody else has posted anything further about the Houston meeting, I will step up. Bernie and Wendy Snyder, Christian and Anna Gandolfo, Scott Sechrist, and of course, Michael Bludworth and myself, were in attendance. All locals, but then, Texas does cover a large area, with Bernie and Wendy coming from San Antonio, and Christian and Anna coming from Dallas.

It was a beautiful day at the historic Hobby Air Terminal. The Houston Airliner Collectibles show was pretty interesting, and Michael, Scott, and I had tables; I think we bought more than we sold. After the show, we had a MAC rump-meeting at the Hobby hotel. Michael showed his rare Monogram Airpower set, I showed the Shapeways 3D printed Zeppelin Staaken and G.IIIa, and Bernie unveiled his custom-made 1/200 'earliest flying boat.' Discussion was active. We then had a nice BBQ dinner.
