Sad News, One of the greats has passed.

Postby grwebster » Sat Feb 06, 2010 9:07 am

I got this email this morning.
>Hello G.R.:

I know you were friend of Mike and Sue Richardson,
who collaborated in the Plane News and
Miniature Aircraft Quarterly.

Sadly, Sue Richardson passed away today,
February 5, 2010 in a hospital in France.
She was suffering of cancer to the lungs
since late last year.
Please let all the miniature aircraft collectors
from your website know of this untimely event.

I have known Mike and Sue since the early Seventies
and we were good friends.
They retired from the model collecting hobby
many years ago, and were living a peaceful and
bountiful life in a small town in the Loire valley.
They wanted to keep this in private, but I think
that Sue deserves our recognition for her expertise and
many contributions she has done for the hobby.

Best regards,

Jose Heraud
<<<<<<<<<
Sue, assisted by her husband Mike were passionate about airplanes and Dinky Toys all their lives, and their books are the standard for anyone collecting today. She will be missed.

A real loss...but at least she was able to make a life's work out of it. Their book will remain as the best reference for a long time!
I hope she took some with her - I know I will!
Rest in Peace!
