Saw one of these posted at the old site. One came up on eBay at a nice price so I snapped it up...

I hope $12 bux for the set isn't too hideous a price to pay...

No..not at all...that's about retail when it came out in '90 or something. Those are all R&L cereal premiums from Australia. Many were also released by Aurora in their Snaparoos series. They are a lot nicer than they seem, but they also leave a lot to be desired.
They don't make kits like this any more!
Have fun!

ooohh... those are pretty! Congratulations. I'd even go for $25 for that set!

I had a similar buy back when I was a kid: a YS-11, Space Shuttle and an F-15. They were about 3 inches long.

What's the size of those?

Pendulum19, those planes were never part of the R&L line. However, they were in the Revell "Mini Snap" line from the middle '90s.
Some folks consider those as "collectibles"; some do not. I know I have a few.

This model is historically inaccurate! They did NOT paint the gondola black!

Do you remember the box color? The Revell Mini-Snaps all came in small, square pink boxes - hard to miss!
Since they came from Revell/Germany they were expensive for what they were, and some very toy like - like your HIndenberg and the YS-11. The selections that were of more interest are the A380, Beluga and similar large planes which were quite nice.
I'll need to pull some from "the room" and take some shots.
I haven't seen any on the shelves for years now, but I haven't been looking for them either.
Is the time period correct for you? Mid '90s?

If I remember it right, they came in small individual boxes. But really, the memory is a little hazy now.

Yes, small individual boxes. Here are some samples..
Again...these fall between toys and model kits somewhere...still available from Revell according to their web site, but I haven't seen any in the stores for years now.
In this category I suppose we would need to place the Kinder Eggs, yes? Small snap assembly toy airplanes. Even harder to get than the Revell Mini-Kits! There are also a large variety of small "kits" from Japan...the Futrua and F-Toy planes...prepainted and ready to go with minor assembly, but in 1/144 scale this time. I am not quite sure which ones come as premiums, but some do....
PS: My computer is displaying these pictures at just about full size, especially the one showing the back of the box. So use that for a reference.
