We have all seen the Wyandotte Crusader (American Gyro AG-4) misidentified as a Lockheed P-38. Well, let me throw this into the mix... who made this press steel P-38 as seen across from a Crusader? I would love to know its origins so that I may plan its restoration.
Many Thanks, Tom

Ironically, the American Gyro Company patented the aircraft layout and etc. and challenged Lockheed in court over the matter when the Lightning came along. However, war clouds gathered and Lockheed was able to escape paying licensing fees or other monies. Consequently, American Gyro went out of business. The P-38 is often lauded for it's brilliant design, but Lockheed didn't come up with the idea first!
