Renwal

On ebay now is the large size renwal B-17 current price is over $165.00. Like Dinky Toys collectors in the UK, American Renwal collectors want all the planes cars, trucks {..and boats} made by the firm. This makes the planes go for astronomical prices on occasion. In the description the seller states a date of 1944 but I am sure Renwal started after the war in 1946-7. Anyone know for sure?
Here is what I believe to be the first toy they produced using the first box graphics. It is the small sized one.

In fact these are two different toys. Early box, early B-17. Late box, late B-17.

Any ideas on when the first Renwal B-17 was made?

Here is a simply gorgeous C-54 Skymaster I have in grey/green. It flew in from the northwest coast several years ago.
