GR, I appreciate the factory models and enjoy them immensely! I find them fascinating subjects from a historical prospect, and am interested in the history of the production of such things. A number of these companies rose during the same time that the plastic kit industry was getting started in the '50s. Many used the same techniques, materials and facilities. They are akin to each other in many ways...
I don't equate them with built model kits since they are different areas entirely!
I know this is an area of keen work by many collectors and am happy to see such things turn up here!
Thanks for posting...and nice shot of you in 'Nam!

Hey Gang,

Just wanted to introduce myself (John) to the helicopter buffs. I build helicopter desk models. Model kits and desk models.
I also look for damaged models if anyone is looking to get rid of them. I can refurbish models.

I am looking for some Rolen 1/30th scale Bell 214ST's and 1/40th Sikorsky H-34's (S-58s). Built or unassembled.

I have several Bells (206, 206L, 212, 214A, 412, 222), Sikorskys (S-61L, CH-53)-and some Hughes 500's that were the old Rolen and Precise Models that are unbuilt. I do a lot of my own scratch building and decal artwork. If I can't find the part, I can make it.
I know both the original owner (Gary)and new owner (Mark) of Precise Models.
Feel free to visit my web page.

Any questions feel free to drop me a email. johneagle777@yahoo.com

Kind regards

WANTED: Helicopter Desk models

Postby JohnEagle » Thu Aug 18, 2011 1:21 pm

Looking for a 1/30th Bell 214ST Super Transport. (NOT THE 214A/B)
They were made by Rolen Plastics in the 80's to early 90's.)
Bell sold them through Louis Bull through the mid to late 80's.
If unfinished, damaged, incomplete, I'm still interested.

ALSO: still interested in any other damged or incomplete, clear models.
Aerospatiale 365N, 350, 355, Alouette III,
Bell 214ST
Sikorsky S-76's, S-58, S-58T --UPDATE--12-29-11--(I FOUND A 1/40th S-76A for $30!!!)
Agusta A-109s
Hiller H-12
Fairchild Hiller FH-1100
Anything else, let me know.

Thanks in advance
John

Hey Gang. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas holiday.

Here's a IN PROGRESS photo of one of my custom Precise Model builds I'm almost finished with.
I had difficulty getting technical and acurate info to do this model. I did do some winging.
Any way, this will be a replica of a UH-1H Huey No. 17765 that served the 498th Medical Company in Vietnam in 1968.
Not as colorful as the UH-1D's that served in 67' with the colorful crest of the 498th Med. Co. on the crew door and yellow markings.

I'll post pictures of the finished product soon. You will notice I did some customization on the exterior with the anti-collision lights above and below the crew doors, the upper pitot tube and the masking of the nose canopy. I totally customized the interior. Photos coming soon. Enjoy.

A happy, healthy, prosperous new year to all.
John
