Fokker 50 Scale 1:25 IMC modelworks

Postby edvanrooijen » Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:32 pm

Fokker 50 Royal Brunei Scale 1:25 (1 meter)

This is an original and very unique Fokker model made by IMC modelworks, Nieuw Vennep Holland.
When Fokker went bankrupt in 1996 al the models where put on auction done by the firm Trooswijk.
This model was number 10 (look at the stand on picture)
This model is with its original wooden box
Only one made in Royal Brunei colors.

Length is about 1 meter long and wingspan also 1 meter.

I want to share this one with you guys :)

All the best for 2012

Hello Ed,

that is a great model and your website shows a great collection.

I know, that it is hard in the Netherland to collect Fokker and KLM models, as competition is very big due to many collectors looking for those models. But nevertheless I am surprised to see no Fokker F-27 Friendship in your collection. There is a fantastic Verkuyl F-27 model existing in scale 1/72 and 1/100.

Christian

I spent a vacation in Burma in the 1980s and we flew on F-27s all over. When the crews learned that I flew in VN I was invited to fly up front on each leg of the trip.
All was very casual, no flight plans, and no radar ground control.
After my return, within 3 months all the F-27s in Burma air's fleet had crashed with all on board the aircraft dead. {All were pilot error accidents, with weather playing a factor -like flying blind into mountains etc.}

Hello Ed,

that F-27 is also a big one, but I was more referring to the "little" Verkuyl models of scale 1/50, 1/72 and /100... (see below)Anyhow, if just your side is not complete, I guess, you will have that little ones as well. ;)

Yes, I am still looking or the Sabena (<- ) Sikorsky(s). Another attempt mid this year on ebay also failed...

Price must be reasonable...

Christian
