UNUSUAL Tin Toy Airplanes

Here is a link to an unusual replica of a tin-four-engine airliner I have never seen before. The logo indicates Matarazzo of Argentina. Have a look:

Is this an attempt at an "Armagnac" or merely a somewhat misshapen DC-7C? Has anybody seen one with a box?

Here is a Korean-made Shin Young brand C-119 Packet/Flying Boxcar I have never seen before. No size is given, but it looks to be quite small. Note the oversized engine nacelles and plastic props, and stubby wings.

Hallo...I'm A30yoyo (have a few tin planes on Flickr). I have a little Korean tin toy related to the Shin Houng item... it has the same top pressing but a blue one piece plastic chassis which includes the vertical tails (fins). Marked US Navy C-119 R4Q which is what attracted my attention on ebay as the Navy Marine version of the C-119 was called the R4Q Packet. Will post a photo soon.....Mick

Here's the US Navy C-119 R4Q toy....its stamped made in Korea MTU under the plastic horizontal tail (5 1/4 inch wingspan)

Either a twin-engined Viscount or something from the Convair CV-240 series. Probably the latter as American did fly the CV-240.

The engines look more like the jet engines on the Tornado toy...perhaps somebody on this forum got it?

That is a Yonezawa toy from 1957 - a twin prop plane of the future. It came in Eastern colors, too. I wish I had that one just for the props. I made some new props for mine from scratch.

That went for $22....the other photo on the auction site shows the props to be made as 2 separate crossed over strips . I probably couldn't have bid from England on that....I used to just ignore the 'mail to U.S. only' when I was buying on ebay 10 years ago ...mean of me , I guess but it never backfired on me . You used to be able to get most tin planes sent by USPS letter post (big letter!) and that would come through as letter mail in England and not usually get whacked by Customs but if the item was sent as a USPS parcel it went through the U.K 'Parcel Force' company who had a Customs office attached to their sorting building and charged a commission for clearing the item through Customs ...I got caught up by that when I bought my C-141

In my years of collecting I have never seen a small Comet jet like this one. The markings match the Tomiyama/Yonezawa but the wingspan is a puny 5 1/4 inches. Take a look:
