My example is on my 'repairs to do' list...not quite as nice as this one.....was reportedly sold by Sears but don't know the Jaanese manufacturer ( long press or right click for full view )

From Christian Bryan's older thread on MAC about the VC-137C tin/plastic toy the list price in Sears 1969 catalogue was $6.99
