Aeroflot Connie? What do you think?

Postby Tone » Mon Jun 15, 2015 2:19 am

I have found a photo of a painted, stencilled Aeroflot "Connie" that appears to have been modified from an Arnold or Joustra toy, with a single fin instead.

Note that the Arnold plane has a tail stabilizer with ridges that serve as guides and to help hold the outer fins in place. This toy does not appear to have them.

It has the remains of black plastic props, which were not a feature of either toy. It is certainly not a Tu-114 as the seller claims. Custom? Made in a Soviet or Soviet-bloc factory using modified Arnold or Joustra tooling? What do you think?
