Model Power Postage Stamp

Postby MichaelB » Sun Apr 12, 2015 11:30 pm

I just read on an eBay post that Model Power - and by implication, their "Postage Stamp" model line - has ceased production. Does anyone here know the situation in reality or is the seller just trying to raise the value on his stuff?
Thanks
Michael

I believe that Model Power has given up the ghost on its Postage Stamp line, but not its other products, Michael. I'm not certain about the status of its airliner and 1:48th scale models, however.

Yeah, looks like Model Power dropped them in 2014. Apparently Daron picked up the line after that. Does it include the airliners? I can't be sure but Daron does have some of those as well.
I need the SM SM-66.
I picked up all the early releases back in the day, and they were a bargain at $9 or so...still a bargain at $18. Excellent workmanship but no undercarriage and all in a box scale. ...that's fine for me. (And yes, I do have several examples of the early P-51 release with the "spitfire" type landing gear.)
Finding "errors" in this line was always half the fun!

There are many Model Power planes at a store called "Ollie's" that opened up near me. There is not quite a varied selection, but the lot does include the P-26 and a whole mess of Connies. They are $3.99 apiece, which I think is a good price for this line.

The store still had a supply of the C-121 Columbine III preserved in Dayton so I bought one:

Lovely!
Was this produced for the Museum? Was it ever standard stock?

The box lists this one, as well as an Iberia version.

There is also a Blue Angels version that I bought recently ar "the Mule". This line has now been picked up by Daron and are being offered in new colored boxes.

I have the BA version. I expect that Daron will pump up the price so - get 'em now!
