Non-scaling toy airplanes are often connoted as "toys" rather than "models", especially as part of a series. So...collecting "toys" would mandate some adherence to this precept.
That said...quite a number of folks collect in 1/200, which is often a "small scale" Additionally we currently see quite a bit of activity in 1/400 and similar. Maisto, like so many others including my beloved Dyna-Flites, are in "one size", primarily for fitting the box. None of this detracts from the model, in my opinion, as there are countless items on the market that are of high quality, despite the size restriction - the Corgi Showcase being an excellent example.
We here at MAC would enjoy seeing regular updates from you on the Showcase line!
...are they still producing new items?

I prefer to refer to them not as toys but as "mini-models".
