I never watched the TV show, but I do have the little plastic toys that were issued under it's name. Minor stuff...I can't even remember the name of the "generic" maker. I'll see if I can find photos. I think all they were the B-17, Corsair, and Zero. ...not high brow stuff...

My neighbor in Florida owns a full scale Corsair- it won best warbird at Oshkosh about 10 years ago.

These LINTOY MIG 21s are beautiful. I have a question.
I have several diecast jets marked [W.T.] HONG KONG. They are
the LOCKHEED F104G STARFIGHTER, REPUBLIC AVIATION F105D THUNDERCHIEF,
CONVAIR F106 DELTA DART,
MCDONNELL PHANTOM F4, NORTHROP F5A, MIG 15, and MIG 21. They rival the LINTOY
in style and quality and painting. I guess I have 15 in total.
Circa perhaps 1972. My question is, Does anybody
know who made these? They all say [W.T.] Thanks, Richard Starr
Remember the hobby is supposed to be fun.

Tin Toys

Postby Tone » Sat Dec 18, 2010 4:04 pm

Rick

Even though they were made of die cast metal the brand is TIN TOYS - they made cars and trucks too, of course.

We should do a thread about these ! ! ! ! !

These are all TinToys. You are only missing their A-4 from their jet series. There is a helicopter series and a jetliner series. In fact, I think that F-106 is the only diecast ever produced of the Delta Dart. And very hard to find!

Yep! I would love to see a photo of the F-106. Sometimes I try to watch out for these TIN TOYS, but so far was never successfull. I once found a totally damaged Boeing 727, which was that nice, that I restored it competely. I have it until today!

Here's the TT F-106. Notice it's listed as from an "unknown" manufacturer in the Miller book. Among the other unknowns here are numerous DynaFlites, Road Champs, Cragstan and Tomy toys. If the author had turned over almost any (and all) of these pieces they would not have been unknowns!
The section on ZEE has exactly 5 items listed; more than that are listed as from an "unknown manufacturer!
...amazing...
However, there are a few in this category that do elude me, like the Hughes HK-1 shown on page 137. Perhaps I should start scanning each page and together, you and I, we can name them all...

...hmmm...for some reason I cannot attach the pic...back later with it...

I remember his book shows that die cast F-106 TWICE with two different captions.

You are correct, Sir!
However, they are both from "unknown" makers...

Not much of a book, but handy for the photos, iron and Dinky plus lots of pictures...Like I said, I think I will start posting the "Unknown" pages one by one so we can ID them all correctly. ...and it would be all right to make notations in the book as well!
So...no one with an ID of the Hughes HK-1?

Hughes HK-1

The Spruce Goose could be an early Aero Classics issue from the late 1990s or 2000.
