Can the engines on the Tekno 765 actually be changed, or is that extra engine in the case just a "prop" if you will pardon the pun... Thanks!

I guess, the 5th engine is just a spare, nevertheless the engines can be changed. You can pull out the cowlings from the nacelles, just use tongs maybe with some textile protection around the cowling to avoid paint damage.

Operation successful! Thanks Chris! I didn't worry about messing up the old cowel (which I did) because it already had a broken propellor...

Good to hear!

Just this weekend I changed the front gear of my Tekno Suedflug DC-7. In the beginning I thought, this is impossible, but if you know the trick, it is very easy!

You just have to know how! :D

Cheers!
Chris

I'm sorry, my mind began to wander after you said you have the Sudflug version.... Jealous

Yes, the Suedflug appears to be the rarest one. I got it around 15 years ago in the original box, but with all props and two cowlings missing plus a broken front gear.
Price was incredible 45,- Euros, really high for that time.
During the past year I got replacements for the engines, the props and the front gear. It stood incomplete for nearly 14 years. Now it's back complete again.
Unfortunately a bit of the decals got lost, very usual for the Tekno planes...

Cheers,
Chris

That is something to be proud of for sure. I only have Sabena, KLM blue tail (2) and Swissair (2). I think those are probably the most common ones... But they are all complete, which is nice.

Did you recently buy a single engine off eBay about a month ago? I was just about to buy one, but somebody scooped me... If it was you, I am glad it went to such a worthy restoration project.

I always liked the Alitalia but I have never seen a real one. The registration letters have my last name in them.
