Have you seen a fake one, and if so what gives them away?

Nope, I needed several engines. I got a cheap SAS DC-7 with broken gears a while ago, from which I took two engines.
But I guess, the seller, you mentioned, was the one, from which I got the front gear. I saw, he had an engine as well.

Cheers!

Finally got the Alitalia today! Not as rare as Sudflug, but still pretty rare...

Got a Sudflug today! Now the only Tekno DC-7 I don't have is the KLM with the tri-color flag on the tail. Maybe someday...

.

Alitalia DC-7. I do not have the case for this one...
Image

KLM DC-7 (blue tail). I have the case and extra propellor for this one. I have two copies of this model...
Image

Sabena DC-7. I have the case and extra propellor for this one...
Image

SAS blue DC-7. I have the case and extra propellor for this one...
Image

SAS lilac DC-7. I have the case and extra propellor for this one... decals very faded
Image

Sudflug DC-7. No case. I am waiting for this one to come from Germany, should take about two weeks...
Image

Swissair DC-7. I have the case and extra propellor for this one. I have two copies of this model...
Image

Air France Caravelle. I only have the bottom of the case and the stand for this one...
Image

SAS blue Caravelle. I have the full case and stand for this one. I have two copies of this model...

So what's left?
-The only DC-7 I need is the KLM with tri-color flag tail
-The two Caravelles I need are Swissair and SAS lilac.

Thanks for looking!

fliegerii wrote:Yes, the Suedflug appears to be the rarest one. I got it around 15 years ago in the original box, but with all props and two cowlings missing plus a broken front gear.
Price was incredible 45,- Euros, really high for that time.
During the past year I got replacements for the engines, the props and the front gear. It stood incomplete for nearly 14 years. Now it's back complete again.
Unfortunately a bit of the decals got lost, very usual for the Tekno planes...

Cheers,
Chris
