Fairey Rotodyne, Gyrodyne, Gyroplane

Here is a weird Rotodyne that I just discovered this evening. I know you mentioned it in the post regarding China toys. MF-821.
Unlike the true Rotodyne, the toy has a single fin which might get in the way of the rotor's wash.
A truly strange feature is what appears to be fuel tanks on the stabilizers (or perhaps they are jet engines like those on the wingtips of the French SNCASO Trident)?!?!?!?!?
The seller states the length is 26 cm. /2.54 = ten inches.

It's possible that this toy was actually marketed as more of a space toy.

Shanghai Tin Toys made a number of funky toys in their space line that have rotors on top the craft.

I think very few of their toys are close representatives of actual aircraft.

It's hard to say what the MF 821 is supposed to be...

I didn't purchase the toy, but I did see that it was sold.

I previously inserted (via the Img button) the URL of one of the ebay hosted images (1600 pixels wide so the MAC forum only shows the left hand half of the photo but it clicks through to the whole image). This time as an experiment I've inserted the URL of the whole auction to see what happens ...actually if you click the little image button top left you do get the auction page!!

Interesting... unfortunately, I'm guessing those ebay images won't last forever and will eventually become "dead or broken links."

It's very sad we can no longer post photos to the site.

I think the Ebay hosted images last a few months, and if the seller has only used about 800 pixels max width they would fit the MAC forum better. I was going to try hosting via Flickr but it's having a 'bad few days' it seems and not functioning. I've only got a free Photobucket account so they've put their logo over my previous images there.

If this shows up it's hosted via my Flickr account using the Flickr Link arrow in BBCode mode and I selected the 800 pixel size Litho Tin Fairey Rotodyne by A30yoyo, on Flickr...now deleted experiment

I only have a free Flickr account (1000 photos almost all used up) but at least you don't get the Photobucket logo over your photos!
