MAC is Back - Again

Postby MichaelB » Tue Nov 15, 2016 3:05 am

After a brief out MAC in back after our web guru straightened out the dots and dashes. If you notice a fault on the page contact me via email or find me on FB - like at the MAC page!

Here's a Siku 707 in 1/230 scale.

That looks like one of the early ones with the small tail fin and no extra fin under the aft fuselage.

Yes, it is. It's an "Intercontinental" version, the -300 series with the early engines and short tail. The wing sweep and engine locations point that out. The color should be white but it's rather a pale ale.
But...it's a fine toy. I wish I had it's box.
At the MAC meeting here in October we had engaged in a long run about these German makers: Siku, Faller, Wiking and Busch. All had late '50s early '60 outlet that often had the same drawings, subjects and attention to detail. Eventually this would all lead to Schuco and then, Schabak and Herpa.
I have just recently gotten some old Bonux/Familistere pieces in and they clearly say "W. Germany" and seem to be copies.
These stories just continue to write themselves!
