Here are pictures akin to the Abominable Snowman hanging out with Bigfoot! This is a pair of AC Rehberger 1930's United Airlines Promotional Airplane Ashtrays. The oldest is the Boeing B-247 with its younger sibling, the Douglas DC-3. We all know the stories about why and when these full-scale airplanes came about. My bet is that these two models have not been shown together for over 78 years when last seen on the credenza of the United Airlines president in 1939. Note that both bases are the same basic castings with nickel plated surfaces. Other than typical issues of age, both are in excellent condition.
Enjoy the Holidays!!
