The T-6 is rarely found as a vintage metal model. This one is brass but the original casting and post-casting sculpting were poorly done. The surface had many deep pits and some areas were haphazardly ground incorrectly. This meant a long-term project which it was and took a couple of years to finish. Lots of patient filling of the voids. The pics show the preliminary paint work and then some additional details such as creating a new spinner prop assembly, engine decal and cockpit glazing. Note that the model did not originally have a prop installed. I suspect someone realized that the model was poorly crafted and simply was shelved (or hid it) until discovered about 10 years ago.

Few last shots before the T-6 heads down the road. The few final tasks-
1) Polish the Ashtray Assembly.
2) Apply the North American Aviation Logo Wings to the front of the base.
3) Add the black anti-glare panel to the top of the fuselage over the nose.
4) Give it a three day cure before shipping out
Thanks All,
Tom Sanders

Thanks. What irony today. I live about 20 minutes south of the very bottom of Lake Michigan near Chicago. Spent the day doing paperwork so plenty of time to catch the throaty roar of radials passing overhead. Before the weather closed in, my last count of T-6's was eleven all heading for their week at Oshkosh.
