I came across this model on Ebay which looks alot like something Allyn manufacturing might have produced but I have never seen it prior to this auction-has anyone seen an EC-121 Cnstellation by Allyn before? I thought I'd seen all of the models by allyn but maybe not...

It actually looks like a factory Lockheed model from their model shop.

I'm unfamiliar with Mr Nelson-what can you tell me about his models?

It's an EC-121. solid cast aluminum one piece model. Most of his models were painted for different airline companies.....however the paint that he used was very low quality and cracked then flaked off. This is military and may have been a sales aid so they would have wanted a higher quality model or perhaps the planes were going to be unpainted for the military. The model itself is in amazing condition, looks to be in the 1/50th scale range. Plane is the Lockheed L-1049. I have one of the same models (minus the radar equipment) in TWA colors. Mine had to be stripped because of the poor paint and restored, it's been painted but still lacks the decals.....still looking.
