I was able to restore this Pan Am Ashtray recently for a friend. It took almost a year to sort out some details concerning the markings on the airplane as well as the globe's equator. As luck would have it, one came up late in October on Ebay and I snatched it up because the globe's band was mostly intact. It says, "PAN AM Round The World Airline". As requested by the owner, I upgraded the plastic prop disks to actual spinning props, a
feature found on the last versions produced. An interesting tidbit is that the globe is cast in two halves. When mated, none of the land masses line up or are simply missing!!
