My Necomisa Sud Aviation Caravelle

Postby dasimperator » Wed Jun 02, 2010 1:14 am

Moulded in a nice silver, this is Pegaso Necomisa's reissue of a Lindberg line Caravelle model.

Detail view. They've inscribed rivets and cockpit windows but omitted the 'obese triangle' windows...

Here's the original Lindberg issue. I think this also turned up as a cereal premium in the early '60s. I don't know what they could have been thinking when they introduced this series. Maybe that's why they went out of business! :P
...and I have just heard that the "new" Lindberg, which was selling "old" Lindberg and Hawk plastic kits has ceased business.

Holy mackerel, I have a small (but not tiny to fit in a cereal box) Lindbergh Line Tu-104 "Camel" and I kept the box lid.

Well, this was a whole series of small scale jet airliners. Besides the Caravelle and 104 there was a 707, DC-8, Comet and Convair 880. All were off scale and small without clear pieces. Individuals appeared as Kellogg send off premiums.
Great box art from Ray Gaedke but that's about all.
