Tonka toys were supposed to be tough enough for infants attention..their metal was a little thicker than some Japanese litho tin and on a tough plastic chassis..... there were some 'special editions ' e.g.JAL747 and Federal Express 'Falcon'

When new the Japan Air Lines 747 came as a set with 2 die cast cars to go up its ramp
