Wyandotte Stratocruiser Conversion

Postby soslipstream » Thu May 10, 2012 2:53 am

About a year ago this airplane showed up with just the fuselage and wings- nothing and I mean nothing else on it. I love a challenge so after doing some research, I decided to convert it to something more than a worn out old toy. One of the hurdles was to find the Wyandotte 4-bladed props. No one makes these for a reasonable price so I had new ones laser-cut and tumbled for far less than what is on the market. I polished these and created new cowls and hubs to round out the look. It aquired all rubber wheels and a 4-color paint job. BTW, the white lettering is dry rub-on transfers that you burnish to make stick. I then cleared the airplane to keep it all in place.

Regards, Tom

Wonderful job, and saved / reused a toy from the garbage bin!
