Don't let the description "cast iron" fool you if you ever see the "toy" I am posting below: it is a MODERN product, worth a few dollars at best.

of all the modern counterfeits there really is one to get, the Kilgore F-11 Sea Gull. Problem is a few years ago they were cheap, but now they are being taken for the real thing and go into triple digits by fools. This said they are very good, all except the wheels which is a good way to tell.

Not trying to be nosey, but there is currently a nice Hubley America for sale on Ebay. Can you give me an idea what these are currently worth in the condition you have here?

Mike- the eBay buy it now price $4,600 is a steep one, probably double what it would get on an open auction, but, this said that toy is in remarkable, original condition {for something 80 years old} and the best one I have seen.
It is the largest cast iron toy aircraft ever made
Why not make an offer. I would think something around $2,000- 2,500 would be realistic. You never know.
While an iconic toy and considered rare, they do appear fairly often on liveauctioneers
Here is a summary of recent sales there {add on the buyers premium - like 20% or so.}

Thanks Gr, I had the same feeling that it was somewhat high. It looks very nice to me too. But pictures on the internet can be very decieving. I will take your advise and make a fair offer, and see what happens.

By the way, thank you for this forum. I check it daily and Love it.
