looks like what military collectors call Trench Art. Made on the battle field from materials at hand- though in this case made back at the squadrons' hangar shop in the UK while the planes are out on missions. Rough castings filed down and even solid blocks of material cut down and filed to a finish.
I have seen many of these over the years in England and have a few myself of different aircraft.
