The Kilroy Collection

Postby Kilroy » Fri Feb 14, 2014 6:35 am

I live in Fairview Alberta Canada and collect a variety of toys, mostly tin and would like to take this opportunity to share some of my aircraft.

Hello! I have some plane photos on that website as well just look up "NyamalaTone" ("N'yamala" is the name used for a legendary African aquatic reptile)

That green C124 Globemaster is very nice ... Could you tell us about those small red and blue planes with fixed propellers made in Japan around 1950? I have a few like them. I would like to know whether they were made in "Occupied Japan" or later, and also, if any manufacturer or distributor firm is named on the box.

Nulli Secundus was also the name of a dirigible in pre-WWI Britain !

Thanks
Tone

There are no markings on the little planes or on the box - BTW the third color in the box is pink. I got them from a reliable seller who got them from Bill Gallagher who is a respected author/coauthor of several books on Japanese toys and told the seller that they were pre-war. I met Mr. Gallagher a couple of times and if I run into him again it is my intention to ask him for more information.

Great collection! I thought Tone had cool stuff but yours...wow!
Love that C-124, and it's in great shape - with the box!
Love seeing these models.

Thank you Michael, I appreciate it. I am in awe of Tone's collection, he has so many wonderful pieces.
The majority of my collection is actually robots, space toys, Buck Rogers and tin military like tanks and jeeps with a little dabbling in cars and industrial vehicles but I am quite pleased with the aircraft that I do have. I am still looking for a nice Schuco Radiant and a plane that was briefly in my collection but returned because of condition issues that is very similar to the Yonezawa American Airlines and Northwest planes that I have but with lighted engines.

I would like to find another one of these:
