Consolidated contracted AC Rehberger of Chicago to produce cast metal B-24 models that were handed out as awards to Consolidated employees. The one on left is an original featuring it nose-down attitude induced by the shape of cast metal support arm. The base is a hard wood and the "data plate" is aluminum or brass with a screen-printed lettering. Over time these models lost their stands and in many cases barely survived as toys. The one on right succumbed to becoming a toy that was rescued about 10 years ago. It has been added to an ashtray assembly for protection and display while a permanent display is crafted. Since the casting is of the YB-24, it made sense to finish it in that format.
