Raise Up DC-7C model...

Postby Seattle Collector » Sun May 20, 2012 7:18 am

I am new to this site and thought I'd post about a travel agency model that I just acquired......its a Raise Up model DC-7C (30 1/2 inch wingspan).....it is in near mint condition with the original metal stand And the original wooden shipping box......all the props are intact and its a badged as a KLM 'Flying Dutchman'......it is solid aluminum and weighs about 15 pounds.....I will post pictures of the model, as soon as, I get them to a website......Thanks.....Seattle Collector...

First of all, welcome to this forum. We all love photos so post as many as you would like. Hopefully you will find you may know some of the other collectors and dealers that are here.
That KLM piece is a classic beauty, and to have all the accessories, crate and stand, along with the near mint model is very unusual.
I know little about these models. Would it have come from Verkuyl/Raise up or the Douglas Model factory, or another source?
Back a few years Gary Field from out your way {Oregon?} was making a great series of cast aluminum model: two flying boats and a DC-7 as I recall. Is he still around?

the explanation on posting is here
http://www.miniatureaircraftcollectors. ... hp?f=3&t=3
but since you al ready have them on photo bucket
just go there log in and click on your photo
underneath the photo you will see various links,
the one you want is IMG Code
it will look like this

click on it, it should copy automatically to your computer, then paste it in a forum post.
Then paste this link into your post.
IT MUST HAVE THE brackets on each end.
